I came in wanting to make my light brown, never-been-dyed-before hair blond. I did not want highlights. I did not want to be streaky. I said that if I can't be totally blond, I want to stay brown. After a 25 minute discussion, he convinced me to do highlights and said he would make them very light and I would be essentially blond. The highlights horrible - they started .5 inches away from my roots around my face, the bleach spilled-out all over the top of my head, the color was totally uneven. But what is worse, my hair was totally stripped - it was GREEN AND GRAY. So I had brown hair and white hair. That does not equal blond. I could not comb through it and it was falling out. I paid thinking that maybe I would get used to it ($35 to have it dried! ridiculous). I went back the next day and talked to the owner who agreed that it was terrible and unacceptable. I demanded my money back and he refused but said that they would make me blond, there, on the spot. I refused because I no longer trusted them. When I went to Red Red Red to have it salvaged, they told me that if VOG had processed my hair any further, it would have been completely destroyed - beyond repair - and probably all the highlights would have fallen out. Half my hair. They also informed me that my hair is so light that I did not need bleach (which VOG promised me they don't use - but the reaction that made the color spill out all over my head only happens with bleach - they flat out lied). Red Red Red put some color back into the highlights and it is tolerable. My hair is permanently damaged.
