Excessive Fees, Great Upfront Sales, really poor closure 3/12/2009

We rented 3 sleds for two days. We were given a price of 189/day. Later told we?d have to pay for oil. But don?t worry, because they buy in bulk, they?d discount to $44/gallon. That's $4 more than the local store. That should have been our 2nd warning after they were quick to bash ActionRentals as ?working out of a shack?. Unfortunately, the problems kept going on. For the privilege of taking our money over the phone, we were then told we?d have to pay another 3% for credit card fees. At one point we were told, rent for 2 days, get the third free. But that got wishy washy as well. The sleds were nice and comfortable for ?family riding? of 2-3 people. But dare get off the packed trail to play in a field like government meadow, and the lame 1? paddles just dig you in. Unfortunately, we broke one of the windshields after falling in a hole at Government Cabin, but fully expected to pay for the damage. Rather than simply charging X when we returned the sled, they refused to give us a price. They order the parts, wait for them to come in, than credit the difference from the deposit; a whopping $800/sled. 3 weeks later, they wanted to charge us $170 for the stock windshield, yet they had cheaper aftermarket shields. I only know this because the parts guy told me they weren?t stock. Had I not checked, who knows what we would have been charged. The trailer provided was a 3place trailer with a detachable ramp. What we didn?t know was the ramp design was so dangerous that when we drove up on the ramp, there was nothing locking it, so it just slid forward and flipped back onto the hood. It just barely missed whacking me in the head. When we returned the sled, we were told the front grab rail was damaged and we?d have to replace it. We were told, ?yeah, that happened to me last week? as well and we should have tied it down. And we were supposed to guess this how? No instruction for the dangerous ramp, yet they knew it was a problem. No bother to make it better. Again, we had to call several times over several weeks just to remind them we wanted to close this out. Labor @ $129/hr ? I?m in the wrong business. At first, they seemed very detail oriented and helpful. Nice sales pitch with the perception of great support. Even gave us bottled water when we got there. Everything was a project with these guys. And once they had our money, no more friendly service. Although we were told they?d call us with the damage costs, we had to continually call them to figure this out. Still haven?t closed this out. I don?t often do this, but I?d definitely have to recommend staying away from WildFun PowerSport Rentals. There all slick up front sales, but once they got your money, watch out. Their fees are excessive, and they just have an unrealistic view of a rental machine. We?ve rented from Easton Snowmobile Rentals and Cascade Playtime Rentals and never had problems. No hidden nuisance feels, oil included, and Cascade, they use the slogan, ?ride it like a rental?. eTicket PowerSports was highly recommended for the Greenwater area, and should have heeded the advice. Rather than have a fun weekend with the family, we?ve got nothing but an unresponsive company who doesn?t seem to understand return business. We really wanted this to go easy. But it was just such a hassle, and it's still not done. Pros: Nice comfortable machines Cons: Excessive hidden fees, no post rental followup for damages more
