I am biased of course,since my family has been eating there for over 40 years,plus my Dad worked there in high school.Yes the atmosphere is old...but it is not pretentious like most pizza places seem to be these day,its not fake it is what it is!Carl recently passed away and it is now in new hands,it is small and Carl never cared about the profits just serving good pizza to a small loyal following!The wait has always been long,we learned a long time ago to call ahead,if you have ever eaten pizza like this anywhere else you would know that as well,Chicago style does take awhile.I have never experienced any bad service,nor noticed anything wrong with the cleanliness of the restaurant.I live in Texas now and still crave Carl's all the time,there is nothing here that compares!
Pros: Great pizza,large assortment of toppings,classic Denver landmark
Cons: The neighborhood has changed to much,mostly yuppies who complain about everything!
