Food Average, Service Poor 2/20/2009

We went here for a valentine's dinner in February of 2009. I believe they have dropped their prices, but the food quality was the same you would get at any local alehouse or chain restaurant. I had the Mediterranean salad, my husband got the ribeye. Ribeye came with a potato gratin that wasn't anything special, could have been betty crocker out of a box, and three or four asparagus spears. The asparagus spears were quite large, nothing fancy, just steamed asparagus. He did say the ribeye was a good steak. My salad was good, but again, nothing to write home about. I expected more from this upscale restaurant. Our server was terrible. She didn't tell us the specials that I found about after we had ordered from another server, didn't offer us more wine, and seemed clueless when I asked specifics about a vegetarian dish (actually, she pretty much said it was a weird combination and she didn't like it). Instead of offering us a dessert menu, she just brought us the check after our plates were cleared. I had to ask her for the dessert menu. I ordered the creme brulee, which she then told me was chocolate (would have been nice to know when she brought us the menu) so we ordered the new york style cheesecake. The menu said it would come with a Kahlua sauce but it came out with raspberry sauce instead, which again would have been nice to know. She dropped our check off with the dessert plate. This is not the type of service I would expect from a restaurant like bentley's. So, if you want chili's or any other chain type food and service, with a better atmosphere, bentley's is fine, but don't get your hopes up like I did of having a nicer dining experience. Pros: Nice atmoshpere for the price Cons: Food average, service below average more
