A con, disappointing. 12/9/2009

I was shocked at how completely WSI failed at what seemed like such a great idea: Three tiers of interviews to match you with your perfect therapist. What could be more reassuring in a time of need than to NOT have to go through all the expense and time of testing out multitudes of therapists all alone? Instead they offer an initial outlay of ~$290 for your interviews and then matching with one of their many therapists. And if that person happens to not work out, hey! Now they know you even better! No need to lose hope! What a great idea. In FACT, I ended up going through my layers of interviews, shelling out my cash, being told to expect a call shortly with my personally hand-picked therapist (so exciting! who would they pick? what would they see in me that would make that person so right? would it be WONDERFUL?). But rather than ""shortly,"" I waited over two weeks before someone called me, and then when I asked if they could tell me why they thought that person was right for me I was told, ""Look, we're swamped, do you want the appointment or not?"" Skeptical, but not willing to risk leaving my curiosity unsatisfied, I took the appointment, and the therapist turned out to be fresh out of school and had absolutely NO experience with the one issue I had specifically asked for help with. To her credit, the therapist was honest with me about having no experience with the issue even SHE knew I cared about (it was in my chart after all), and I felt bad for her for being put through a mill like that. But I will never go back. WSI is a business. And let's not forget that after all of this, if you happen to have to cancel with ""a few days notice or less"" (whatever that means) on an appointment, you will still be charged for the FULL appointment. Not only that, you are REQUIRED to commit to a certain number of appointments in advance... all in the name of ""guaranteeing commitment to the process."" A process they seem to be entirely cynical about. They are all about milking desperate people for their cash. What a racket. What a con. Pros: None. Cons: Lengthy, expensive, failed to provide service advertised. more
