Buyer Beware!! 12/29/2009

Bought a 30' above ground pool with installation from Allied Pools back in April 2005. I was promised professional installation but what I received was anything but professional. Pool delivered with wrong parts, installation with huge drainage problems (4 foot wide moat), and a liner with dozens of folds, wrinkles, and creases some 6 feet long! I received nothing but excuses for the poor install and in 2006 Allied finally agreed to try to fix the liner with a new one. The problem is that this install was worse than the first and they left without finishing the installation, no skimmer or water return holes cut. I tried everything including the Better Business Bureau which Allied cut off contact with until their status was threatened! Dave Murray( Allied's owner) won't speak with customers and even refused to speak with the BBB. It's almost 2010 and the pool still sits unusable and the case is pending in Waukesha Circuit court. Allied and their installation company, Mainstream, are the worst companies I have had the misfortune to deal with. I did receive an offer to have them take the pool back but for less than what I paid them! Not to mention all the other related cost I would lose. In 2007, they agreed to try another fix but only if I signed a release stating I was satisfied with their install, remove BBB complaint, and acknowledge this is the last liner (fix) Allied will do no matter how it turned out! This had to be signed before any work would be done! I refused to sign and Allied left leaving me an unusable pool! Feel free to ask management about this case for I believe they are all aware of it. Mainstream's owner, Phil Swaine was who I dealt with and he would be a good person to ask questions to for he was a big reason for this making it to Circuit Court! Cons: everything from pool delivery, installation, & service more
