I was really excited about trying the Samuel Cole Salon--especially because I found someone who specializes in curly hair. I have to say, the setting is nice and everyone was very friendly. And thats about it.
I made an appointment for a cut and full foil highlights. The stylist did spend time discussing my options with me and answered all of my questions. I told her that in the past when I've had color on my hair it turns brassy and that she would need to use bleach. She assured me that what she was using is like bleach and would NOT become brassy.
When I left the salon my hair was still somewhat wet so I did not see the outcome of the color until I got home. I loved the cut but was very upset when I saw that the color was completely uneven, blotchy in spots and no where near my scalp! The front was so bad that wearing my hair pulled back was not an option because there was one big blond streak in the middle of my head!
I went by and actually spoke with the person who assisted. She was very defensive and said that the only reason the 1 inch gap between my scalp and where the color started was a problem was because of the way I wear my hair! Which is ridiculous because if the stylist did a decent job I'd be able to wear my hair any way I wanted.
I scheduled a redo (which is a great policy) and the stylist was very nice and agreed that the color was not even. She added several more foils. However, once again I left with wet hair and when it dried I realized that she never even touched up the roots---at my part or the front! She totally missed the point. So now, a month after spending $200, several hours at this salon, and tipping the stylist and her assistant twice I am having to search for another salon to fix this brassy mess and touch up my dark ""roots""! I would not recommend this salon.
