beware this ""Rip off & Beware"" Contractor 11/18/2009

The rating should be ""no stars"" unless the owner of R&B... does a complete 180 degree turn and comes to the honest side of trying to be a contractor. The story is too hugh to tell all here. I feel it is my obligation to try to warn anyone by any avenue about this company. Beware, once R&B... gets close to legal trouble the company will probably change the name and/or move. (NOTE:the phone number in Warrensburg is currently not in service.) It does seem you need to investigate any company you contract with. R&B... was contracted with in September 2009 to remove and replace a tile roof. Before that job began, we asked R&B... to bid the same house painting. R&B... went off happily that day with 1/2 of the labor as retainer money. R&B... showed up three days late to start the work. Majority of R&B... laborers were young and untrained. One of R&B... owners said our tile roof was a ""training"" roof for his workers. We did not contract to become an educational institution; but we did get an education about R&B... Other items: no supervision of the workers or inspection of the work by senior workers/ shoddy work--left knotholes in the wood sheathing open and not properly, covered with metal below the roofing felt (did repair some inadequately after it was brought to their attention)/ not much respect for property or materials (walked on the tile roof breaking many good pieces)/ did not use safety ropes at required times/ did not have proper materials at the needed moment thus causing delays/ threatened to charge for extra time for removing dirt from the surfaces on the tile where an adhesive was to be applied/ and many more items. Pros: good snake oil salesman Cons: snake oil salesman, delays, lack of organization, shoddy work more
