I had read these rave reviews and thought I had finally found a place outside of Portland or Houston where I could trust to get great color. I was sadly mislead.
I gave it two stars, one for being in a great location and another for being a pretty salon.
I originally called to get an appointment with Stephany but she books her own appointments. I waited a couple of days and was getting desperate to find someone to touch up my roots before I went on vacation. I called the salon again and they recommended someone else.
Disaster is to follow.
I should have walked away when she was felt the need to tell me that ""everyone goes dark for winter"" and I should get more low lights. That is not what I wanted. She is new to the salon and probably new to doing hair as she was taken to the back, because as she said ""she is new to this color product"" and gone about 20 minutes. She comes back and starts to foil my hair. I have very fine hair and this usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes. I sat there for over an hour and half as she foiled. When it all came out I could barely tell that she touched the roots and I felt cheated and like I couldn't say that it wasn't at all what I wanted. The roots still look as long as they did when I went there except now there are more low lights in a color I hate. It actually makes me sick to look at my hair!!!
If you are going to charge $95 for a partial, at least perform like it is a $95 color.
I feel like I wasted 4 hours and $95. I don't feel like I can return and ask for someone to touch up the roots as I wanted them in the first place because while the salon is beautiful it everyone in seemed to be a little grumpy and I don't feel like anyone would listen to my concern.
I will be traveling back to Portland to have my roots touched up on NW 23rd at a Salon that charges the same rates and way out performs Tangerine.
Pros: Wonderful downtown location
Cons: inexperienced staff
