Ooh so unprofessional! 10/21/2009

I contracted with Ooh! Events for my intimate wedding because of their vintage china and silver. From my research, they were the only vendor in Charleston to offer these unique rentals. I had also planned to use them for day-of coordination and florals. I was first in touch with Michelle and she was very friendly and professional via e-mail. Then I received an e-mail from Lisa, the owner, and never heard from Michelle again. Lisa was initially nice via e-mail, aloof during our first and only in-person meeting, and continuously rude via e-mail over the course of 6+ months. I even received an all caps e-mail from her. Here are a few highlights of my experience with Ooh! Events... I had to find a new day-of coordinator (Interestingly, when I was checking references for a new coordinator, I talked to two other brides who had bad experiences with Ooh! Events); I didn't have the look I envisioned for the dining table because all of Ooh! Events' vintage silver was stolen the week before our wedding; they arrived late with the high cocktail tables I ordered - three minutes before the end of the ceremony - and dropped one table making a loud noise during the closing of our ceremony. To their credit, the china was beautiful. I think Ooh! Events has a good creative team, but that does not make them good business people. Customer service and professionalism are seriously lacking. I did not feel that our business was valued - we did not even get a simple 'thank you.' I felt that our wedding was just one of several as Lisa made it a point to emphasize in one e-mail that it was their ""busiest week of the year."" That may be, but do you really tell your clients that the week of their wedding? Happy wedding planning!\r Pros: Beautiful vintage china Cons: Lack of e-mail etiquette; late delivery; unprofessional more
