I used to work in a recruitment agency and have freelanced many years through one as well. My impression is that this agency does not place quality people in quality jobs.
I was told earlier in the day to email my resume and to then call back in one hour to speak with a recruiter. I called back as requested and was transferred to a recruiter who told me she was eating (at 4:30 pm) and that she had no time to look at my resume. I should call back Monday. I know that this is an employer's market...but nonetheless I can still qualify for high paying positions. This benefits the agency as it only gets them a better mark-up and / or commission.
If this place had quality jobs then they would never tell a potentially high-quality candidate that they were eating and couldn't look at their resume. That lack of interest means that they get low paying jobs and the recruiter themselves are not making enough to be motivated to put down her sandwich.
