huge disappointment Mt. Adams Fish House 1/14/2009

Mt. Adams Fish House used to be the premiere sushi/fresh fish restaurant. Been there twice in 3 months and the food was terrible. the sushi did not look or taste fresh and rolls easily fell apart. Sushi from grocery stores taste better. Beluga is the best sushi in town, expensive but worth it. We ordered crab cake and it was soggy and greasy. the crab meat was a dull gray in color. Blue Fin tuna was a large cut of fish that had a bland taste. the sauce that accompanies it tastes like it came from a jar. the fish and sauce did not seem to integrate. the swordfish looked great and tasted fair/good and it was the best of our dinners. the portions are all around generous but if the food is gross, having more of it does not help. our service was fantastic but the food is terrible. we spent $190 for dinner for 3 persons - what a huge waste of money, will not return or recommend to anyone. the owner also owns celestial restaurant around the corner and we've been there a couple times and it has also gone down hill. the cocktail shrimp both times was dry and rubbery. the other restaurant they own is teak and their sushi and dishes are great tasting and reasonable in price. Pros: service Cons: pricey - restaurant looks outdated; dining and bathrooms could use update as they are shabby more
