Average spa experience 1/20/2009

My spa day was rather enjoyable, but I'd done a 2-hour boot camp the day before, so the masseuse totally hurt me! :( It was a good hurt sometimes, and I even told her about my previous excursions, but she seemed determined to squash out those toxins from my back and shoulders. Sometimes it was quite uncomfortable, but I do feel tons better faster than I would have without the massage. My facial was okay...the lady claimed that Red Door doesn't allow the use of an extractor for white/blackheads, but somehow I have a shallow scab on my nose where she'd been working...hmmm...I don't think that was done with a fingernail!! But my face did feel really good and polished afterward--I was glowing. :) My nail artist was professional and efficient--my nails look excellent, and she even gave me a few pointers on how to prolong the shine. My day was fun, and I loved the warmed massage tables and warm towels. I didn't like how thin the walls were, though--the Cheesecake Factory is right next to the spa, and I could hear people cheering/chattering and I guess someone was celebrating a birthday, because I heard people singing, too. It was rather distracting at times. But overall, I did like being pampered. On one note, my package was supposed to feature the Signature Facial with Prevage, but evidently I didn't need that product since my aesthetician didn't use any of that line on me; however, I believe I was charged that price. All in all, it was an average experience but for a ""highly recommended""-level price. Pros: Ambience, parking, service Cons: Thin walls, high prices more
