This afternoon I was craving Chinese food for lunch and wanted to try something new. A friend of mine recommended I try the the Fortune Cookie Buffet. Hmmm... I love chinese buffet; normally I have few or no complaints when I am getting a bargain for a lunch. However, the fortune cookie buffet was horrible. The General Tso's Chicken was nearly ice cold in the center; the Bourbon Chicken had the consistency of raw chicken as was well below serving temperature. What made this restaurant horrible, was not the cold improperly served food; no, it was the attitude of the staff when I told them that their food was undercooked. Yes they staff was very sweet, and I did not try to come across too confrontational. However, they offered lots of excuses and claimed that they are always willing to heat the food up in a microwave for their customers... on request. They claimed that it is nearly impossible to ensure all food in their buffet maintain proper serving temperatures. With that in mind, I smiled and walked out of the restaurant. If you are looking for a good chinese buffet, there are several within a short distance of fortune cookie buffet that do care about their product enough to serve it hot. Other than the hot food being served cold and under cooked, their was a great variety of food, the salad bar and desert bar were outstanding; the staff were very friendly; and the restaurant was clean.
Pros: Good variety, great salad bar and the kids loved the chocolate fountain.
Cons: Food was nearly raw and or served cold.
