Classes are too large, unstructured, and undisciplined 1/11/2009

I was disappointed with this studio. I work with children so I understand the philosophy of offerring choices but the little gym was too unstructured for me. Perhaps if their classes weren't so large children would find it easier to focus and stay engaged. Many of the children just ran around aimlessly- they had fun, but did not really learn skill or discipline. My daughter is no exception. I was was paying money for her to do the same stuff she can do for free in our backyard. I tried four different classes for my daughter- even changed my work schedule to get her into a smaller class (an afternoon class). Her instructer was awesome, though. She was the reason I kept signing her back up. When she decided to leave the gym I knew it was time for us to leave as well. Now I have her in a dance school that not only has smaller classes but is also cheaper. My advise for the little gym is when you tell parents your teacher to child ratio, also tell them that many times there are two if not three teachers in the class in order to maintain that ratio. Pros: doesn't force children to do anything, Cons: large class sizes, uninterrested children, more
