I have been shopping consistently at Kitchen Table for over 10 years. The store has a lovely section of items but I have been frustrated over the years with the owner's rude and often condesending attitude toward the customers and employees. Yesterday was the last straw. For Christmas, my 13 year old son gave me a heart key chain from Kitchen Table. Within a few weeks, the heart had fallen off the key chain so I brought it to the store for a replacement. This is the first time I have ever brought back an item because of a problem. The store owner, who should know me by now but never seems to show any familiarity or friendly recognition, looked at the broken key chain and said that I was the second person to bring it in with this problem. But then she said that I should not have used the key chain with my car keys (the item did not come with any instructions or warnings, it is sold as a 'key chain'). She said I should have only used it for my house keys (don't most people have their car and house keys on the same ring?) and that she would not give me a replacement key chain because it was "my fault" that it broke. The key chain cost $7.50. Then she walked away before I could even let her know that I was going to buy a new one anyway because I didn't want my son to see that his gift had broken so quickly. I had to go find a sales lady to ring it up. I am done shopping there; a good customer deserves to be treated better.
Cons: Lack of customer service
