If Table for Six has in fact gone closed it's doors, immediately call your credit card company and cancel the charge, even if it has been 6 months. The credit card company should prorate you the amount you lost based on your membership with Table for Six. They will get their money from the credit card processor that Table for Six used, who will then try to get paid through the bankruptcy settlement. However, since a business like this has few assets and I am quite sure it was protected with an incorporation veil, my guess is the credit card processor will get very little money back even as Julia Paiva goes on living in her expensive house in Pac Heights that her wealthy lawyer husband bought her.
Now, if you bought a membership in the last few days and you can show that Table for Six knew they were going to close their doors, then that is classified as fraud. You might consider contacting the Attorney General's office. Paiva and Table For Six has had difficulty with the law before, specifically when she settled with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. She settled with them a few years ago for not refunding people's money who chose to enact the 3-day right to cancel, which is required in California for dating business contracts.
