Went to the NW location for a sinus infection and the medication had an adverse effect. I called on Friday morning at 8:00 am before a holiday, did not want to go all weekend with the infection I had. The person who picked up the phone told me that I would get a call a from the oncall doctor, if I had not heard from the on call doctor call back . Did not hear from the on call doctor so at 9:00 am I called back and left a message that I needed different medication and wanted to make sure I had it for the weekend. During this time the on call doctor called back around 9:30am and she stated she would call the office and she would get the problem resolved. Needless to say at 3:00 pm I had not heard back from the office so I once again called so I could get medication for the long weekend, I left a message and got a call back around 4:00 pm I talked to a different doctors nurse, the doctor that I had seen was not in on that Friday. She told me that they could not give me a different medication because they had not seen me, Doctor Church saw me and I would have to be seen by a different doctor for the infection to get medication. She stated that I could go to the walkin clinic (that would cost me $40 and I have already paid $20) but they could get me a quick appointment. What is the purpose of a group if they cannot look at the chart and resolve the issue. So I spent the entire Labor Day weekend ill (I could have spent the $40 but why I had already seen a doctor and paid $20). The overall point is that the office has POOR communications and not helpful when you are in a position of needing medication even if the doctor you saw was out of the office for the day. This was not life or death, it was a sinus infection! I would have thought that any doctor could have called in a prescription to solve my problem. Thank god I really wasn't ill. I must say that I have returned to Leawood Family Care for the medical needs of our family. They do care and will work with you.
Pros: Good Parking and quick to be seen
Cons: Not willing to work with the patient, and very poor communication
