When I arrived with my puppy and opened the door, there were three very large dogs in the small waiting room that started barking loudly. The vet looked at me and said "take that one and wait outside for a few minutes so these ones can leave". It was not a request or a suggestion but an order. And what about a vet that addresses an animal as "THAT one"??? Once I was inside waiting for my appointment, someone came into the waiting room with a broom to clean up. My usually exceedingly brave puppy backed away from the broom. I laughed at her and then picked her up and put her in my lap. The vet tech behind the desk said "what you should have done was keep her on the ground and pat her reassuringly so that she knows that the broom isn't something she needs to be afraid of". This is by no means my first dog and if I wanted your advice I would have asked for it.
