My cat was 17 and had developed several subcutaneous sarcomas. Because X-rays were not done until AFTER the surgical removal of the sarcomas, I did not realize that the surgery was pointless. Apparently, the vet didn't care to find out, and I was too credulous to question whether the pre-surgery workup was all it should have been.
