My wife and I and another couple have been to this wonderful showplace several times since we first learned of it in April of this year. Maxwell DeMille, the Host and Master of Ceremonies, has always been cordial with us and the staff working the restuarant are comparable to any of the better restaurants in town. The guests are all wonderful and always seem to have a good time when the band is playing or when the band takes a break and recorded music from the past fills the room. You are greeted by a well groomed doorman in a uniform, then taken up an elevator to the second floor by another well dressed man who wears the unifrom that you would have expected to see in the 30's and 40's. The second floor has a great bar, plenty of open seating for drinks and conversation plus a small dance floor. You then go downstairs to be seated and the menu offers some dishes that are priced fairly and served promptly. Everything we have orderd, or that our guests have ordered was fine. The musical entertainment varies and there is no cover charge most Sunday nights. We have never been to this restaurant without noting anywhere from 130 to 150 people dancing, having dinner, or enjoying drinks upstairs. I think most restaurants would be envious of such turnouts on a Sunday night. The room is elegant in every respect and having been to just about every place in town, nothing can come close to offering the quality food, service, and entertainment that you will find on Sundays at the Cicada. As to menu items, we recommend the lamb, veal chop, and swordfish. They also have a mixed seafood grill which my wife has enjoyed twice....always good! Its a wonderful place for romantic dinners or for a party of 4 or more. No matter what, if you want to enjoy great music from a bygone era and enjoy the experience that you used to find at Ciro's or one of the old night clubs on the strip when people still dressed for dinner...this is the only place in town!
