Absolutely terrible 7/9/2008

I have never been treated so poorly by a business. I gave an Asian man behind the counter two rolls of medium-format 120 film to be developed after asking him if they were able to process that format. He then told me that one roll would be ready the next day, but the other a few days after since it would have to be sent away. They were identical rolls of film. When I questioned him, he told me dismissively that one of my rolls was slide film, he kept saying slide film slide film and I kept assuring him that they were identical. Finally I conceded, hoping that at least it would be sent to someone more qualified. He charged me eleven dollars for my first roll of film, out of which I was only given FOUR prints. As I examined my negatives I could see that they had all been ruined, except for those last four on the roll. When I went back in to question why I had been charged so much for a ruined roll of film I was treated rudely. A woman told me flatly, without a trace of apology "$8.50 processing fee, $.50 per print" and then turned her back. My second roll was returned to me in a box, along with the original film envelope on which the man had written an instruction of "E-6" (the chemical process reserved for slides, not prints). He had ensured that wherever my prints may have been sent to, still returned to me as slides. But they weren't even slides, but rather one long roll, a single slide. Why? I will never set foot in this store again. They are rude and dismissive to their customers and unskilled when it comes to film. I was treated not just poorly, but with disrespect. Save your time and money and develop your film elsewhere. more
