I hired ABC to inspect the home I was buying for termites before we went through with the purchase. The person who did the inspection was extremely courtesy and seemed to be doing a good job. Considering I paid $210 just for the inspection I was expecting nothing but the best. This is nearly twice as much as most pest control companies charge for this service.\r

My regular home inspector was also on site and told me he had spent quite a bit of time outside looking for active nest sites etc. We bought the house since he was not able to find any termite activity. Within two weeks of moving in I discovered the entire perimeter fence was damaged by termites. I actually SAW termites on a piece of wood in the backyard. How he was able to miss this extremely active site considering the amount of time he spent I couldn't say. I called ABC to complain. I was informed that they do not check the fence at all. That seemed like a ""gotcha"" to me. This was never mentioned to me at any point. I figured if I pay you $210 to check the property for termites you check THE WHOLE PROPERTY and not cherry pick what you want to look. That defeats that whole purpose. I left a message with ABC asking a supervisor to call me. No one has ever called me back and the customer service I received on the phone was extremely rude. I'm now going to have to pay to have my house sprayed (they haven't attacked the house that I know of, this is preventive but who knows at this point) but you can bet I will NOT be using ABC.
