I have lived in NYC for over 30 years and have been to all the big name sushi restaurants: Masa, Kuruma Zushi, Blue Ribbon, Sushi Yasuda, Sushi of Gari, Bond Street, Sushi Sen-nin (just to name a small handful). Sasabune absolutely destroys all of them. The prices are totally fair for what you are getting, and the service is excellent. Good wine and sake list, and the servers are very helpful in making a selection. Seating is very limited though, so unless you're planning on going before 6:30pm or so, I would advise making a reservation. If you are a sushi lover and you haven't tried this place, you are really denying yourself a great experience.
Pros: Best sushi anywhere, excellent service, good value given the quality
Cons: Cramped, limited seating, blah location
