We've lived in Sewickley for over a dozen years. Unfortunately, we never took note of the SpeakEasy until about five years ago. In that time, it's become a favorite of of ours. We're still exploring the expansive menu. There are excellent seafood choices, several red meat dishes, amazing pasta as well as pork and chicken fare. Their 16 oz. pork chop is amazing as is their Steak Zurich. Their wine list is very diverse and if you take the time to speak to any of the experienced wait staff or Deb, the owner, you'll find there are hundreds of bottles more that don't make it to the list. The SpeakEasy takes time to constantly bring new and diverse wines. \r

The decor is somewhat dated but the restaurant is in an old house that's some 150 years old. I should also point out that it was only on our 2nd or 3rd visit that we got to meet the chefs. They were quick to spend time with us talking about the menu. They also suggested that if our expectations weren't met, they'd love to hear from us.\r

If you're looking for a restaurant that offers a great menu and the small-town charm of Sewickley then this is the place for you. I'd also suggest that you take a minute to meet the staff and get to know them. Zimata's pot-shot review of the restaurant is just inaccurate.
Pros: Diverse menu, excellent wine list
Cons: Ambience could be better but honestly we prefer sitting at the bar
