After living in Tokyo with my husband for several years so my standard for sushi has increased from the California Roll to appreciating sushi for what it is: fish over rice (nigiri) or no rice at all (sashimi). 95% of sushi restaurants in Tokyo don't offer anything more but a tuna roll or a hamachi roll. Rolls with mango bits, cream cheese or spicy mayonnaise don't exist. \r

Since I moved back to Austin, I've been to Musashino several times over and tried Uchi. Musashino offers an authentic Japanese ambiance with great sushi and consistently good service. The only negative I'd have is in their price. Musashino satiates the sushi craving just fine without the snob factor, more expensive menu, and long wait at Uchi.
Pros: Consistent standards of food and service
Cons: They do not take reservations
