Many years ago, in this same location, was a Cuban/Chinese restaurant where, on many occasions, I would order pork chops and yellow rice. It was the dish that made me fall in love with Latin food. On a return trip to the old neighborhood, I noted the old place was no longer there, but replaced with Old San Juan and I decided to give it a try. My hubby ordered an empenada for an appy and we were so happy with the taste we could hardly wait for our entrees. My husband's Chicharon de Pollo was nothing more than glorified Chicken McNuggets and my pork chops (grilled not fried like real PR chops) were pink on the inside - which I didn't notice until I'd eaten half of one chop. I showed it to the waiter, he looked at me then asked if I wanted them cooked more. I said I didn't because I lost my appetite. From then on there was absolutely no contact - eye or otherwise- from the staff. The probable owners - two fellas that looked very alike - carried on going back and forth, but could care less about their customer's satisfaction.
