The staff is very pleasant. I have always had prompt lunch service, making the Heathman a good option for a business lunch. The menu is full of pacific-northwest-type fare (fresh and interesting salads, soups, seafood, etc.). The menu is perhaps a cross between what you find at Higgins and Jake's. The atmosphere has an old-Portland feel (hard woods, marble, etc.). If you are staying over, or looking for a good downtown breakfast place it is worth trying their eggs benedict (very good). However, you can easily find a less expensive, and more impressive breakfast place in Portland.
