I'm one of those femmes in the rough who prefer beer over wine or syrupy cocktails, so naturally Spitzer's wins points with me for its damn good beer selection. They've got everything from Unibroue to Leffe to Maredsous to Rogue -- sigh. Heaven. They win even more points with me for that new menu by Wayne Nish. Super simple but super smart food -- great for pairing with microbrews. We tried the pork belly sandwich (great), the roasted chicken (fantastic), and the mac n cheese (super rich with bacon). We had to diet for a week afterwards but it was well worth it. Plus, the price point is GREAT. You can leave full and satisfied and tipsy for about $30.\r

Service is always friendly but can get erratic when it's super-busy. Fortunately, the vibe is so lively you don't even notice. If you want to have a more intimate conversation, there's a back room where you can cozy up with a date or a group of friends. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood!
