Went to Banana Bean for breakfast while home visiting my family. Although the place is small and we didn't have a reservation (it's nice to know that you can make one on weekends), we were seated in about 5 minutes. Waiter was friendly and knowledgable - also very funny! All four of us loved our meals - my bananas foster french toast was to die for, with thick slices of bread, fresh berries, and a rum sauce that was just the right level of sweet. My mom had sweet potato pancakes (one of the specials) with some sort of sour cream glaze (wonderful, especially with the glaze), my dad had the blueberry roasted corn pancakes (good mix of savory and sweet), and my sister had the polenta (also a special). Portions are huge. Wanted to get the beignets, which looked awesome, but we were all too full. Great cuban coffee, too! Will definitely be back (and would like to check out their lunch and dinner items as well).
Pros: Food and service
Cons: small space
