Yama studio in Stamford is hot room & Vinyasa yoga. They don't call it Bikram & they shouldn't. Very nice & clean studio. Hardwood floors & lots of mirrors. I'm a true Bikram practicer & this place isn't ideal for Bikram. 1st of all the room does not get that hot (average temp seems to be 95-100 degrees). The mirrors for some reason get really fogged up (even when there is only 3 people there). The instructors keep music on during practice. I find it distracting & very against yoga ethics. The teachers are not very consistant. They modify the poses whenever they want. I'm fine w/that as long as they do it consisantly. If my heart is set on doing Bikram that day, I want to do Bikram, not a modified version. I was recently told that they are under new management. Same teachers but new management. Maybe some good changes will be made. The teachers have been ok, I've had better. All this being said, I've been happy w/this studio. Only because it's the only one in Stamford. Everyone is really nice & very welcoming. I don't think I will take anything from this studio for my practice, but it will do. At least I get to practice so I can't complain.
Pros: nice clean studio. The only one in Stamford area!
Cons: Doesn't get hot enough, teachers are not consistant & not true to Bikram
