lipstick on a pig 3/26/2008

We arrived late, yet were seated promptly. Outside our window was enormous mounds of peacock dung, we ask to move to another, and were informed that none were currently available, although only three other tables were occupied. Our server, who will remain nameless, was at best, unprofessional. She was confused, and had no answers for the questions we had. Her fingernails were dirty, her costume was torn, and her hair was unkept. The food was a joke. I ordered the lamb (overcooked and tough) pressed into a pile of mashed potatoes with flavored orange juice on top for about $72.00. My partner ordered the duck, which came to him bloody rare surrounded by old, almost moldy berries which ran about $60.00. The wine steward (a teenage-looking boy) who claimed to be an expert, hounded us constantly to purchase a $400 dollar bottle of wine we were not interested in, even after we had finished our meal. The view of the mountains (beyond the piles of dung) were fabulous. Overall, we were not impressed with much. For the staggering prices this place charges we deserved much more. If this place is 4-star, than so is applebees or tgi fridays. more
