Washington Mutual Not Trustworty 3/13/2008

I tried banking with WaMu when I first moved to Georgia. It was a nightmare. They initially told me they would hold my first deposit for ten days, but they held it for 25. They said direct deposit payroll would be available immediately. They held it for ten days. When I asked, I was assured that was only for the first month. After the first month, they continued to hold my direct deposit for ten days. They posted debits before deposits every night, generating numerous over-drafts. I had overdraft protection, and they drained my savings by charging a $10 fee for every item, instead of the one transfer on that day. We had a check card that was supposed to be free, but they charged us $3 every time we used it, whether we used it as an ATM card or as a Credit card. They charged me every time I called to ask for information, and another .50 when I visited a teller. Boy was it surprise when I got my statement. They went through $2000 of my money in six weeks with fees. I asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't one present. So I raised my voice a bit and again asked politely to see the manager. After two more requests, she called a manger in from a back room. When I confronted the manager, he said it was Georgia banking regulations to hold deposits for 10-25 days, charge for transactions, etc. etc. Pros: None I can think of Cons: Did not adhere to account agreement more
