AMAZING Food 3/5/2008

I went to Hemisphere for Valentine's Day of 2008 as all the other ""common"" romantic restaurants around Orlando were booked! Even though this was my last choice on my list of places to chose from for Valentine's Day dinner, it was not by any means a downgrade or a settling due to time restraints. My amazing experience began with me earlier in the day delivering flowers to the restaurant to have placed on my table when my reservation was set for. I wanted to get a feel for the restaurant before committing all the way, and I was impressed by the small setting yet elegant atmosphere. I called and spoke to the hostess 20 minutes before my reservation and asked to delay it a little, that was no problem, I also asked if the flowers would be set on the table before I got there, and likewise that went off without a hitch. I arrived at the restaurant and saw my table by the glass window with the flowers on top and I said PERFECT! Even though a small task, this sort of precise execution by the restaurant already gave me a good feeling for how the rest of the night would go. For the meal we chose two appetizers to share because I was CRAVING the Escargot and she was craving the shrimp and crab claws. The escargot was delicious and although it was wrapped in a pastry shell rather than sitting alone in sauce, the way I like, it still tasted great. The Shrimp and Crab Claws were good especially with the Guava dipping sauce, but the only complain I had was that one of the claws was near impossible to enjoy because the meat got stuck to the shell(perhaps a one time mishap). Our Entrees of Kobe Beef and Filet Mignon was exquisite!!! The sweet potato vanilla bean mash was to die for, I will most definitely be trying to imitate it in my kitchen. The only I can complain about was the semi-loud business group a couple tables down, it is in an airport by the way. Our bill came out to $180.00 which included a bottle of champagne($31). Overall a $200+ night well spent! Pros: View, Food, Service Cons: Trying to follow the signs that lead to the restaurant road more
