It's bustling for dim sum! 2/17/2008

Expect waits 20-30 mins on the weekends for dim sum at lunch time. You're given a number and called when a table is ready. You check off the items you want to eat on a preprinted NCR papter, where some of the items are not translated into English, so if you can't read Chinese characters, too bad. The waiter takes the list to the back and a wait staff brings the items to your table and checks it off on a sheet left on your table. The most expensive items are $5/dish. Most are about $3-$4 a plate, some are about $2. You have a choice from about 4 types of tea at a charge of $1/person and you can get away with 7-8 plates for 2 if you have small appetites. The tab easily running $12/person if not more. When they're crowded, they try to hurry you out. Our waiter grabbed our list and took it to the cashier when we hadn't received our last dish, egg custard. They didn't charge us for it, but they didn't bother to check to see if you received your complete order. It's a eat, pay the bill and get out type of treatment, no loitering. Food is pretty good, but like most Chinese food, could use a little less salt. They don't leave condiments on the table anymore (chili sauce, yellow mustard, soy sauce, pepper, salt), so you have to ask the wait staff for it if you want it with your food. The sticky rice w/sausage, Shanghai dumplings, shrimp bonnets, egg rolls were good. Didn't like the chicken feet, bland. The pork ribs in garlic was fair. Pros: Fast service Cons: Parking, they rush you out during peak hours, long waits when crowded more
