We tried Pol Bistro holiday season expecting a buffet. But the holidays and bad weatherreduced restaurant traffic that night. Consequently, the restaurant did not open the buffet; we were forced to order off the menu. The food was heavier & starchier than I like. They serve fried Polish sausage, I personally prefer polish sausage slow cooked and tender. The restroom was impecably clean. Knowing that most restaurants keep their restrooms cleaner than their kitchen, the restroom was reassuring. These people have very high cleanliness standards. \r \r Today we phoned before arrival and confirmed the buffet . They were not sure whether they would be serving pierogis. That seemed odd for a Polish reataurant. The buffet was very small; there were no more than twelve food varieties, and initially disappointing. The food was moderately to luke warm consisting of: one lonely hard potato pancake, two soups, fried polish saugsage, a puffy chicke/rice thing, some probable pork in gravy, oven roasted potates, cabbage, and three remaining fruit filled pierogi. At $13/pp, it did not seem worth it to scavenge the remains of left overs. \r \r Then more and more people began to trickle in the door. Slowly, the kitchen geared up and replenished the buffet trays with fresh food. Cheese blintzes. Fresher fried polish sausage and onions, meat and/or mushroom pierogis, fresh potato pancakes, a stew with fresh peppers, stuffed cabbage. Now we were talking Polish buffet! Unfortunately, we were full from eating the left over and could not really enjoy the fresh buffet for what it had to offer. We sampled some.\r \r I hope this restaurant attracts more patrons, expands their buffet, and keeps the food items fresh from the kitchen. It is located in a strip mall and their decor is bland. But they are clean, and the food is authentically Polish kitchen food. There were various fresh flowers on every table. The coffee wasn't very warm/fresh and soda lacked full carbonation. Pros: The buffet food is good when it comes fresh and hot from the kitchen Cons: Slow restaurant traffic keeps buffet food sitting beyond it's optimal period of time/inconsistent more
