Not too long ago, my partner and I had brought an injured migratory bird to Sailfin Pet Shop so I could identify which seeds the bird ate and buy a cage for it in hopes of rehabilitating it.\r

The first thing I noticed while standing in the crowded "bird aisle" was that the cages were small and literally piled up on top of another. As I stood there, the owner of the shop, John Cwaygel noticed me and was curious to see what I carried inside the basket, so I showed him. \r
When se saw the little green bird, he looked at me in the eye and told me in a stern voice that I was in "VIOLATION of several federal and state laws" (his exact words) and then advised me to take it to a small animal clinic. I felt harassed as a customer to be accused this way!\r

He said at the animal clinic they would put the bird in rehabilitation and give it vitamins. Trusting his advice, I took the injured bird to the Small Animal Clinic to later learn that they killed they poor little creature. The bird was full
