Who thought that a shoe repair store would be so busy in the middle of a strip mall that was nearly empty. I had plastic heel bottoms that had fallen off or were threadbare and stopped in on a whim to get them fixed. Thought I'd shell out about $20.00 for the 4 pairs, but I guess I had no idea that rubber heel bottoms were so expensive. Especially for the Wal-Mart boots that I loved and might have paid about $12.00 for them, but the heels were $15.00. But they did an excellent job and the shoes were finished within days. And rubber is better than plastic, especially with the snow and ice. They don't take credit cards so bring check or cash.
Pros: great rubber heels, local business
Cons: might be pricey
