My husband and I just dined at Polo's for our New Year's Eve dinner. We had a 7:00 reservation, arrived at 6:15 and were seated immediately. The only problem was the waiter mumbled something about needing all the 4 top tables, so they gave us a tiny two top right by the front door. That was fine, until every time the door opened, we were greeted with a blast of cold air! He was near our table when this occurred and rushed out to ask the door man to cease and desist from keeping the door open so long for arriving guests.
When we left, there were probably a dozen four top tables still empty, so I am not sure why we got the two top treatment. Another couple came in just as we were leaving and were given the two top next to us. They noticed right away the problem with the cold blasts of air, so I suggested they ask to move, which they did, and were given a nice four top in the private dining area.
Erin, our waitress, was wonderful. The food was outstanding and I would go back again, for lunch or dinner. A suggestion to Polo's though, if you are going to seat people in the area near the front door, put up a nice screen or something decorative to block the wind. My meal was great, but the cold air was not!
And if you have four tops available, please don't subject your customers to the tiny two top inches away from the two top next to you. Luckily no one was dining next to us or I would have felt like I should have been paying their bill!
