On October 29, 2008 we went to Chutney's in Bellevue to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were a party of 7 including 2 kids. There was one waiter at the time and it took around 10 minutes to get us a table (the restaurant was half-empty). Next it took us another 20 minutes to get the waiter's attention to put our order. Have you ever been to a restaurant where the waiter(s) are SO busy that you've to wave your hands and do other antics to get their attention ? That's exactly what we had to do. The food arrived rather quickly and was fine (maybe our expectations got lowered after the ordering ordeal that anything normal felt good). We're now ready to leave and the waiter got us a check with 18% gratuity added automatically. I called the waiter and showed him that in the menu it was mentioned that a gratuity of 15% will be added for parties of 8 and more. His response was it's an old menu and that section was now modified to be party of 6 and more (not to mention about the change in percentage). IMHO, THIS WAS JUST OUTRIGHT LOOTING, ON TOP OF WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I told the waiter we may have to report to Better Business
Pros: ambience
Cons: customer service
