We had gone to the Blue Bayou many years ago when Chef Mazur was still alive and the food was very good. However, we went there in early October and I would have to say that the dish I had was almost inedible. I had the "Barbecue Shrimp" and if anyone knows what that is, there should not be a hint of barbecue sauce in that dish. Pascal's Manale in the Garden District of New Orleans has, in my opionion, the best bbq shrimp, and the sauce is a mix of butter, garlic, black pepper, and a blend of herbs. The Blue Bayou's version was a mixture of tasteless shrimp that was swimming in a tomato-based bbq sauce with raw onions! UGH. It was disgusting. The other 3 in the party had Etouffee and it was just so-so. The restaurant had only a few other people there, yet it took us 2 hours to get out of there. The best part of the meal was their salad. By the way, the waitress never asked us how the meal was. I don't think I would ever go back there again, even though I have fond memories of more
