Poor Treatment of Consignors / Good Selection of Consignment Clothing & Shoes 10/7/2008

I have been a consignor at Waist Not, Want Not for many years, and the clothing that I bring in is in tip-top shape, if it is not new already. I cannot remember even one article of clothing, or a single pair of shoes, that I have taken to the ""Drop and Dash"" (the consignor's entrance at the back of the little white house that is home to the shop). That being said, I also cannot remember a time when I have visited the ""Drop & Dash"" to deliver some consignment items that I have not left with a bad taste in my mouth for the way in which I was treated by the owner, who usually can be found in the back office, which is where the ""Drop & Dash"" designated area is as well. She is downright RUDE and INCONSIDERATE to her own CONSIGNORS! Whether it's ""reminding"" me, more than 10 times during the course of any one (5 minute - tops!) visit to the ""Drop & Dash"", that most things of mine ""are never going to make it to the floor, 1/3 at most ever do!) or that whatever style of pants, shirt, scarf, shoes, etc- you name it! - is not really ""in-style anymore and isn't even worth leaving at the shop because they will just be getting rid of it,"" I always leave there feeling as though I am stupid for giving this woman, essentially, free money, only to be treated like dirt and made to feel as though I am out-of-style, with a sub-par wardrobe. You would think that someone who is earning her income through consignment clothing sales would be a bit more courteous to those who are generous enough to provide her with the merchandise through which all of her money is made, right? (That's not even to mention the fact that some of her consignors have been taking things to the shop for YEARS, such as myself, and are still treated like children who are often scolded for wearing an outfit that doesn't quite match. I would not continue to bring my things to her shop if I didn't enjoy shopping there every once in awhile, although she wouldn't DARE to say hello or acknowledge me as a customer. Pros: Variety, Designer Clothing, Shoe Selection Cons: HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE (treatment of consignors by the shop's owner) more
