I guess it holds true that you can't please everybody...You are just 1 out of almost 200 renters at the Lock Vista apartments. I've been living here for 4 years (and still am), and have not experienced anything of what you're talking about. I remember when Dominion Real Estate took over this property and the policies that they changed. I also remember that there were a number of people who would not comply to the new policy...especially the smoking one. I happen to to be in an apartment above the 60 year old persom that you spoke of, and I complained to the management (that you seem to have deemed inept) about the fact that she me was smoking in their apartment and her smoke was coming into my apartment through the vents. After NUMEROUS conversations between her and Kari, she was finally evicted because she REFUSED TO COMPLY TO THE RULES. This is something that would happen in any apartment/condo building in the country.
Also, every maintenance request (these are OLD buildings...remember) that I bring to the office is also quickly and efficiently resolved.
There has been nothing done by the Management of this property that is in any way underhanded. While it may not be "fair" or "nice", everything that this management company has done has always been legal.
If you didn't get all of your security deposit back, I'm sure that there's a reasonable and legal reason for it. I suppose that the question to ask you is what kind of shape did you leave your apartment in? Was it left in the same shape as when you moved it (minus normal wear and tear)?
I would recommend living at this property to anybody...and have to many people.
