Ok, So read all these reviews. Some say best ever, some say insult to NY. Some say owner is rude (if Virgilio is rude then you have never been to NY), some say owner is hard working and very nice. Like everyone I am from NY. Not all pizza in NY is good. There is good pizza in Denver. Not the best ever but very very good pie right here in town. I have been to Virgilio?s 15 times now. Only one time I asked for the pie to be a little more extra crispy. Virgilio came to the table and apologized, he explained that when it is very busy the brick stones cool off and that is why it looked cooked on top but was not crispy on the bottom. He explained it takes months and months to teach a person how to work the ovens. That was enough for me to tell me that this owner cares about his product. I have never have seen him rude to anyone, maybe stressed since every time I come in the place is packed. Back to the pizza. Virgilio?s is the best in Denver, The pizza crust maybe the best I have ever had, the pizza sauce is sweet but does not overpower the pizza and the cheese is amazing. They use ?Grande? which is thee best pizza cheese on this planet because favorite place back east uses this cheese and it brings back childhood memories. Lil Ricci?s also uses ?Grande? but they cook on a conveyor? Where in NY is there a conveyor except Dominos and Pizza Hut. It just doesn?t stop at the pie. The garlic knots are amazing. The homemade fresh hot mozzarella that is made to order and maybe the best comfort food ever. The calzones and spinach pinwheels are fantastic. The reviews that give Virgilio's 1 star are just BS. This place no matter if I ate off the floor in the bathroom would ever get 1 star. This is not a 5 star fine dining restaurant, just a very nice neighborhood pizzeria that get packed and busy. So be prepared to wait on Friday night or just go early or during the week. You will not be disppointed. \r
