la barca is the best place in the town to see all aspects of city life. you'll see preps, gangsters, scene-sters, sports fans, surfers, hot chicks, douch-bags, etc. it's down to earth and you don't really feel like you are in the marina at all. the people who work there are super nice, and most of them are freakishly good looking and cool. i would try a "freshie" if i were you but know that they are strong. the beef fajitas are the best thing on the menu. go there to have a great time in a traditional old school bar with a great juke box.
