Assembly line spa 9/4/2007

My daughter and I went to Spa Sydell at the Forum for a mother/daughter day. I had the 30 minute facial and body wrap. My daughter had a teen facial and message. I have been to a few other spas, including Spa Sydells and I must say the experience was mediocre.\r When we entered the spa, we were greeted with the smell of somones lunch. Something you don't expect to smell at a spa. The waiting area is nice with waterfalls and low lighting. My technician greeted me and escorted me to the change room. The change area is small, and there were used bath mats in front of the on the floor and empty glasses on the only bench in the room. The change area is small, so this was ackward. \r The body wrap included a ten minute steam, but. by tech ushured me out of there after about 5 minutes. tops. (I did not check in late) She then swftly painted some gel like substance on me and wrapped me up. I stayed there for about 10 minutes showered then was promptly moisturized. Not a very relaxing experience.\r The 30 minute facial was nice, but the entire time the tech tried to sell me something. Glycolic peel. waxes. product, etc etc..I finaly gave in and had a eyebrow wax. (She wanted to give me a brazillian)\r Im sure Sydell will be happy that her techs are upselling More money for her. But not a very relaxing experience at a spa. Which is the purpose is it not? \r This place has become an asembly line type place. Get em in get em out, next.\r Ok for quick services like waxes etc..but not great for pampering. \r I also agree with the poster that a better mani-pedi can be had at your local manicure place. Had one at the Alpharetta location last year and was very dissapointed.\r Pros: Convenient Locations and Hours of Operation Cons: Mediocre day spa more
