Clothing exchange at the price of your self respect! 9/7/2007

Buffalo has decent used attire at often outrageously expensive prices. I brought in a box of clothes to sell (after hearing friends' woes and having been advised against it) only to be scoffed at by a disdainful employee in a very foolish haircut who held up my purchases between two fingers and curled her lips in distaste at each item. F minus on customer service. We're not all selling clothes to keep ourselves out of the poorhouse. Some of us just like to keep things tidy. I won't complain about the service because I can't whine about getting money for used items. Human decency is apparently not, however, on the application for employment.\r \r On the plus side, Buffalo gives back to the community if you choose to opt out of a bag. They also offer a dropoff for clothes that they are not interested in buying, and supposedly these go to charity. Nifty.\r \r All in all, I recommend that you grow a good, strong backbone before attempting to sell. If you must be in style at all times (and style means other peoples' used unwanteds) then the exchange bit is fabulous. I'll continue to shop at the Salvation Army for my thrift-store purchases, though, and I'd rather deal with their people and make no money than deal with Buffalo's and get paid. Pros: Good selection, clothing exchange and sales Cons: They soak their employees in evil. more
