I attended a birthday dinner party at Laurel over Labor Day weekend. SEeing as this restaurant received accolades for vegetarian fare, I am even more disappointed in my meal. While ordering, I informed the waitress of my food allergies and vegetarianism. She looked at me like I was an alien. I said I couldn't eat wheat and dairy - a reasonable request and would accept any type of vegetable, salad, whatever. I received an appetizer size salad and a side of steamed green beans - without apology. The music was weird, the service was bad. The servers were visibly socializing and folding napkins at a table while my water glass sat empty and my entree was embarrassing. Apparently the salad person ""didn't show up"" but I'm not sure that's an excuse for what the kitchen produced. I'm writing this as a 6 year Boston resident - I've been to many meals at many restaurants and I present this same request. this is by far the worst service I have EVER received.
Pros: drinks menu
Cons: service, staff, menu accomodations
