My dog was a patient of Dr. Kross, whom I found to be a caring vet. \r
Recently, however, after making an appointment to see Dr. Kross, I arrived to find Dr. Burya taking over the appoinment. I was not informed of the switch, but I went ahead with the appoinment as I was leaving town and putting my pooch in the care of my mom and wanted to give him a thorough exam.\r

While overseas, my dog developed a little constipation. My mom took him into Rivergate and Dr. Burya was there. She suggested and x-ray. When my mom declined and asked that my pooch be given a small enema, my dog was whisked away and my mom was told to return in 3-4 hours. She called me, concerned, because Dr. Burya had told her the charge would be $120 (including a 'boarding fee' for 3 hours!) The last time my dog had an enema (at another midtown vet) the charge was $20.\r

I phoned from Europe to speak with Dr. Burya. I asked her about the charges, especially the 'boarding fee.' She said 'Well, we have to keep your dog - we're busy and can't do the procedure right away.' She was charging me a boarding fee because SHE was too busy to do the procedure! \r
I found Dr. Burya's attitude to be histrionic, uncooperative and unprofessional. She was quite upset at my simple question and told me to have my mother 'come immediately and pick up the dog.' When I asked if she had done the procedure she muttered 'Um..yeah. Nothing much happened.' \r
She said she would not charge me under the circumstances. Low and behold, I received a bill from Rivergate a week later for $120 for the procedure that may or may not have been done. Also, there was an erroneous additional charge on the bill for heartworm medication which my dog is not and has never been prescribed.\r
As of this date, the billing person refuses to remove these charges.\r
This situation is unfortunate because I did like Dr. Kross, but Dr. Burya has sullied my associaion with Rivergate. And I am still working to get the billing situation resolved.
