Terrible Customer Service 7/2/2007

I've been to Chapel Hill Tire Co. a couple of times and would not recommend them to anyone.\r \r The first to I went to CHT, I had some routine maintenance issue and my driver's side window, which was up, was difficult to get up once down. They said they could look at the window some other time and would do the routine maintenance and get my car back to me in an hour. When I got my car back, they didn't say anything and handed me the keys. When I got to my car, the window was rolled down and I couldn't get it back up at all. I hadn't been rolling it down for this reason, and it ended up costing $800 to fix elsewhere. They should have at least told me they rolled it down and couldn't get it back up, and offered me a clear tarp or something to cover it temporarily. \r \r I recently went in for a new tire, and they said to come back any morning early to fix a stripped bolt. When I came in at 7:30am, they asked me if I'd made an appointment -- which of course I hadn't, as they didn't tell me I'd need to, so I had to come in a week later with an appointment to get the bolt fixed. \r \r When I went in for problems with my power steering fluid, I explained that the steering wheel was very noisy when I was turning. The mechanic asked me, ""What do you want me to do? Check for a leak?"" in an aggravated tone. Well I don't know! What should you check for? I'd been told that just getting air in there can cause that problem, and not necessarily a leak, so I don't know what you need to do to fix that. You're the mechanic!\r \r They also keep trying really hard to push things on me I don't think I need (e.g. nitrogen filled tires). They never mentioned they had a shuttle, something I could have used the first few times I went there. \r \r Go somewhere else, please. more
